Vancouver Peace & Justice Fair bigger than ever in 16th year!

FEATURING: Progressive networking and community building; local churches, nonprofit and charitable agencies; diverse community performers; fun activities for children and the whole family.

DON’T MISS THIS YEAR: Electric vehicles showcase! Indian dancers! Tibetan song! Labyrinth Walk! Peace heroes! Passport to Interactive Activities with prizes! Photo booth!

The Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair returns to Esther Short Park for its 16th year on September 14, 2019, showcasing local nonprofit agencies and churches, volunteers and activists, performers and just-plain-folks focused on making Clark County – and the whole world – a better place to live.

Get to know the many big-hearted local community groups that are working on important causes like hunger and homelessness, gender and LGBTQ rights and equity, racial and ethnic bigotry, environmental restoration and climate change, oil trains and pollution, war and refugees, health and nutrition, animal welfare, and much more. If you’ve ever been interested in doing any sort of good in Clark County – or just exploring our busy networks of activists and do-gooders – this is the event for you.

Ever wanted some facetime with peace heroes like Pete Seeger, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Harriet Tubman? Peace and Justice Hero Reenactors will stroll the park throughout the day. Collect their business cards that explain their work for peace and justice.

Passport to Interactive Activities for all ages: Many exhibitors will offer fun activities that are listed on the Passport, available at the Headquarters table. Get your passport stamped and earn a prize; see details on the Passport.

Did you know that Sept. 14 begins National Electric Vehicle Week? Check out several all-electric, zero-emissions; chat with current owners of electric cars and electric bikes. Take an electric bike for a test ride!

The Photo Booth will return. So will face painting and fun for kids. Show up bright and early at 9 a.m. for the DIY drum circle (with instruments provided)! Meditate for peace while walking labyrinth walk!

Music on the main stage begins at 10 a.m. This year’s highlights include the return of sweet Celtinalia with virtuoso harpist Jennifer Pratt-Walter and hammered dulcimer master Carl Thor; Tibetan song and drumming with Vancouver’s own Tamding Tsetan; an electrifying dance performance by the Maharaja Bhangra dancers of Camas; and capping things off once again is a special appearance by the Vancouver Master Chorale, featuring cherished songs of peace.

The Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair is a day like no other: A homegrown gathering of our community’s most forward-thinking citizens and peacemakers. Come see how Vancouver is leading the way to a better world.
